Mystery stole

Liityin minäkin mukaan neulomaan Mystery Stole 3:a. Seuraan huivin suunnittelijan blogia säännöllisesti ja ihastuin heti kun huomasin että hän aloittaa uuden ms-neuleen. Sain äsken valmiiksi ensimmäisen vihjeen, sateinen päivä vain ei oikein anna myöten valokuvata sitä. Lankana minulla on Wetterhoffin Silvia, vaaleanharmaa. Neulon mukaan myös helmiä, vaikkeivät ne kuvasta oikein erotu (värikkäät pisteet ovat nuppineulojani) ja helmet ovat valkoisia lysteripintaisia 8/o kokoisia siemenhelmiä.

I'm also knitting along the MS3. I read the designer's blog regularly and I was really thrilled the moment she announced she was going to have another MS project. I just finished the clue one, but the rainy and grey day here in Finland won't let me have a better picture. The yarn is pale grey Wetterhoff Silvia and the beads are 8/o size seed beads. (I actually bought the beads three years ago when we visited New York with my now husband, boyfriend back then.) The beads are write, the colourful droplets are my headpins.

Sockapalooza update

My sockapalooza socks are progressing nicely. The bottom one is already at heel flap and the top one is closing in on it. These are slightly modified version of the Interweave Knits' Merino Lace socks, these are knit toe up (to make my Colinette Jitterbug last as long as possible), the lace patterns are switched around a bit (to decrease the number of stitches, since I'm knitting these 14 stitches on a needle (five needles, so that is 56 stitches)). So far, I'm loving them.

Nämä ovat sockapalooza-sukat. Malli on muokattu Interweave knitsin Merino lace sockseista ja näissä on lankana Colinette Jitterbug. Alempi sukka on jo kantalapussa, ylempi on kohta siellä. Muutokset alkuperäiseen malliin ovat oikeastaan pienempi silmukkamäärä (yhteensä 56 silmukkaa), joten järjestelin pitsimalleja vähän uusiksi ja langan riittävyyden varmistamiseksi aloitin sukat kärjestä. Sääli etteivät nämä jää itselle...

Muita päivityksiä neulomuksiini löytyy Baijerilais-KALista ja Eris-KALista. Edellisen viestin sliparista on luvassa parempia kuvia syksyllä, sillä yritän tarjota sitä Ullaan ja näin kun täällä on vain surkea kuva siitä säästyy edes pieni yllärin mahdollisuus.

Lomalta paluu

Blogin voisi ajatella lomailleen näin samalla kuin minun. Olen saanut valmiiksi elämässäni ison projektin, Gradun. Se on kansissa ja opintorekisterissä, nyt pitäisi miettiä mitä seuraavaksi. Olenkin ollut lomalla muutaman viikon ihan lepuuttaen itseäni ja etsien suuntia minne osoittaa nokkansa. Neuleita on valmistunut useampi, vihreä villapaita (,joka kohtasi julman kohtalon, josta blogaan lisää kunhan se on uudestaan valmistunut), pipo, sukkia, kaikenmoista. Uusi Ullakin julkaistiin. Kuitenkin valmista (no, langanpäitähän ei lasketa?) tänään tuli miehen slipoverista, kuulemma mieluisampi kuin villapaita ja ihan sopivan kokoinenkin. Ohje tulee tulevaisuudessa, varmaankin syysullassa ellei jotain dramaattista tapahdu.

I've recently finished many projects. One of the biggest of them is my Master's thesis that is now done, graded and entered in my records at the University. I'm happy. I've been vacationing and clearing my thoughts now for a few weeks, since the thesis was a big project. I've also gotten a lot of knitting finished: the green sweater (it got all messy, but that is subject for another post), a hat, socks and the vest above. My DH is really happy about it, it fits him well and I'm hoping to publish the pattern in autumn Ullaneule. If there is interest, I might translate it afterwards. Anyhow, I'm back in business, cheers and what ho and what else Bertie would say.

Ufopäiviä

Koska Tuulia esittelee ufojaan niin kai minäkin. Tämä ristipisto on ollut kesken jo vuosia, olisikohan lähemmäs neljä jo. Ohje vain on kadoksissa ja niinpä jos joku teistä tunnistaa mallin (veikkaisin vuosien 2000-2003 ajalta, lehti on varmuudella Suuri Käsityö) niin olisin valmis ostamaan tuon lehden itselleni. Josset halua myydä lehteä rahasta, voin tarjota vaihdossa vaikka jonkin ulkomaisen ristipisto/neulelehden. Tämä on ristipiston vasen ylänurkka, oikeaan alanurkkaan tulee puu.

Since Tuulia opened her closets and showed some ufos I'll follow. This cross stitch has been under work for year, maybe four, maybe more. I've lost the pattern and if someone recognizes it, I'd be grateful. I started to stitch this from a Finnish magazine, but it might be published also elsewhere since I believe it is a DMC model. This is the top left corner, in the bottom right a blue tree is supposed to emerge.

Sockapaloozing

(in English only this time) I've bought some Colinette Jitterbug over the last few weeks. From left these are Velvet leaf, Tuscany and Gaugin. I love them all, but one of them has to end up as a pair of socks for my sockapalooza pal. It seems that she likes green (spied her blog and data in the database) so the two on the left would be the options this time, the gorgeous Gaugin is all mine. Velvet leaf is almost solid really beautiful green I specially ordered for her socks, but the Tuscany is a possibility as well. It is a pale greenish yarn with specs of colour and very Colinette. What do you think? Should I go with my feelings and choose the pure green one and just knit the socks as I imagined them? I've been checking out the "Merino lace socks" (how inventive name for a pair of socks...) in Favorite Socks for this pair since they are knit in Koigu, which seems to me very similar to Jitterbug.

Pötkylää kerrakseen

Näin kauniin puikkorullan ostin Langankuluttajalta. Rullaan sopii juuri sopivasti kaikki ohuet sukkapuikkoni, niin kuin suunnittelin, sillä rullan tekijä ompeli taskut puikoille toiveideni mukaisesti ja kankaiden väritkin sain valita itse.

This beautiful needleroll was made by Langankuluttaja. It holds all my small dpns, as requested. She made the pockets by request and I even got to choose to colours for my roll.


Tässä enimmät puikkokoelmastani, osa puikoista on käytössä sukkapareissa mutta "ihan muutamia" on päässyt kertymään. Paksuimmat kuvan puikot ovat oikean laidan 3,5 mm metalliset ja ohuimmat vasemman laidan 1,5 mm metalliset. Välissä sitten onkin kaikenmoista, ruusupuuta ja eebenpuuta.

This is most of my dpns, not counting those attached to socks currently. There are actually quite a few dpns at my household than I believed there to be. The largest needles on the right are 3,5 mm metal ones and smallest on the left are 1,5 mm metal ones again. In between there are many different ones, rosewood, ebony, metal... But no bamboo since I dislike knitting with bamboo needles.
