Tomaatit kasvavat, mutta kovin hitaasti. Ne olisi tarkoitus viedä ensi viikonloppuna vanhempieni luo Espooseen kasvamaan takapihan kasvihuoneeseen. Toivottavasti jotain satoa tulee syksyyn mennessä, mutta vaikka ei tulisikaan, niin onpahan aina kokeiltu. Ensi vuonna voi sitten vaikka istuttaa siemenet siihen aikaan kun pussissa lukee...
The tomatoes are growing slowly. I'm planning on taking them to my parents' greenhouse on their backyard in the suburbs next week. I hope they'll grow quicly enough to yield some crops for me, but anyhow, I tried. Next year I'll plant them at the designated time ...
Valmiina laukunaihio, se on jo huovutettukin. Tämä siis on neulottu hahtuvasta kaksinkertaisena. Ajattelin tästä joskus ohjeen kirjoittaa, varmaan tarjoan sitäkin Ullaneuleeseen. Läpästä näkyy myös surkuteltavan selvästi nurjan ja oikean ero, jos joudun neulomaan melko tiukkaa. Tätä tasoittaakseni käytänkin yleensä vähän pienempiä puikkoja suhteessa haluamaani neulepintaan.This is a bag in the making. I've already felted it in the washing machine. It is knit with untwisted yarn doubled. I'm thinking of making this into a pattern (with the finishing touches I'm planning to use on it) for a Finnish www-knitmagazine Ullaneule. Also painfully visible in the flap before felting is the different with my purling and knitting, I usually knit on smaller needles in propotion to the surface I desire, since it seems like my knit stitched don't get that much smaller but the purling gets prettier.
Tännekin muutti Mason-Dixon knitting kirja. Näitä tiskirättejä on nyt syntynyt kaksi, kirjan ohjeet on todettu päteviksi ja seuraavaksi varmaan tehdään jonkinlainen tilkkupeitto. Päällimmäinen muutti diogeneelle "tuparilahjana" ja alempi on meillä jo käytössä. Molemmat on neulottu Novitan Suvista, joka nöyhtäsi ennen pesua, mutta 60 asteisen konepesun jäljiltä tuntuvat varsin hyviltä.Mason-Dixon ahoy! I got the book, fell in love with the rags, tested the pattern, found the book good and planned to knit a blanket. The one on to moved to my friend's apartment and the one on bottom I kept myself. They are knit with Novita Suvi, unmercericed cotton and after washing them in 60 degrees (Celcius. I'm European.) they seem to work just fine.

Siemenet kylvetään, ei istuteta. :P Minun ainokainen tomaatintaimeni on vielä paljon pienempi, varmaan alle 5cm, vaikka muistaakseni kylvin sen melkein ajoissa...Saa nähdä tuleeko tänä kesänä satoa ollenkaan, viime vuonna samasta lajikkeesta saatiin muutama pikkutomaatti.

Oh hey, there you are! I like the shaping on the flap of the bag. The picture is the version before felting, no? Glad to hear that you are having fun with Mason-Dixon Knitting. I made the hexagonal washcloth with the eyelets near the edge. Caution! There are errors in some of the patterns. The good news, though, is these errata are on line.
