Mother's day is tomorrow and I originally trought to give my mom some flowers. I live in Helsinki and I don't really know any practical places to pick white anemones, the traditional gift flowers for mother's day. I'm counting on my brother and his sons to get her some of those. I think I'll be getting some flowers like roses and then I'm giving her this doily. I started to knit it yesterday afternoon and was finished with the knitting by evening (and I didn't even spend whole day knitting it). The pattern is from Novita spring 2005, but it has been previously published by another finnish company called Neovius. I changed the pattern slightly: I continued the lace few more rounds and then I just cast off the doily instead of doing crocheted cast of earlier. My crocheting is really tight so it was easier this way. I also got nice soft picots on it. The oranges aren't covering any mistake, although I could have done better job blocking it more evenly. Oh well, it is sort of cute. The yarn is Marks & Kattens Grandi, 100% cotton, 100g = 600m. Oh, and I'm giving mom also knitted cap in spite of it being almost summer, since she asked me to knit her one before. She bought even a ball of Novita Teddy for it. That yarn is horrible and after knitting a small bit I had to go and buy some Topp't tå to finish it.

Kiva liina. :)
tosi kaunis! mä olen katsellut tota ohjetta, mutta siinä reunuksessa on joku joka tökkii. ehkä mä teen siitä myös tuollaisen (sit joskus).
The doily is just lovely! I'm happy to see that you've started translating, as my command of Finnish is non-existent.
